What does FIN and AUTH on my transaction history mean?
If you see AUTH against a transaction in the App it means one of two things:
- Temporary hold: The amount shown as "AUTH" is not a final charge. It's a pre-approval for the retailer to ensure you have the funds available on your card.
- Pending transactions: These are transactions that have been authorized but not yet fully processed and settled by the retailer
AUTH transaction values will have already been removed from your available balance.
If you see FIN against a transaction in the App it means your transaction has been fully processed and settled by the retailer.
If you see both AUTH and FIN details for the same transaction with a retailer this could be due to delays with the retailer processing your card payment. Only one value has been deducted from your card balance.
